Federation of European Cartoonists' Organisations (FECO)

FECO exists to encourage goodwill and the dissemination of information through the world regarding 'The Art of the Cartoon.' Membership is only granted to professional cartoonist organisations. Only one representative organisation is represented per country.

Organisations from outside Europe are accepted and can attend General Council meetings, but they do not have any voting rights. FECO's history goes back to the early 80's when Peter Nieuwendijk, Bob Vinke and Les Lilley first discussed setting up a federation. A newsletter - FECONEWS - is produced four times a year.

FECO:

• produces a calendar of Cartoon Festivals being held in all parts of the world once a year.

• has a database of over 1,200 cartoonists in 40 countries

• assists with setting up of Cartoon contests, exhibitions and festivals

• provides support when approaching Ministries of Culture

• assists in obtaining commercial sponsorship and government subsidies

• addresses issues of cartoonists' rights and copyright

• holds social events for Cartoonists
