Sly was born at an early age in the West Country and spent his early years growing up with children. He went through the motions of normality until attending university in the United States, during which he discovered a penchant for dressing up in all-in-one spandex suits and patrolling the mean streets of Boston. He left the country and returned to the U.K. shortly after this discovery.

Since his return to the motherland, Sly has spent the last couple of years as a freelance cartoonist. His single panel gags have regularly appeared in various newspapers, and his strips 'Adam' and 'A Snail's Pace' are serialised monthly in numerous community magazines both in the U.K. and abroad. Sly has also wriiten and illustrated comic book stories for the highly acclaimed Factor Fiction Press, and has also written and illustrated alternative comic books (such as 'More Tea, Vicar?') for the UK comics small press industry.
